Kidney stone is found in kidney but is passed lower in the urinary tract. Kidney stones are known to be most painful medical condition. Most kidney stones are small in size and pass out through urine. Some stones become stuck in a kidney and cause pain.

Types of Kidney Stone
1. Calcium
These are most common made up of calcium oxalate.
2. Uric acid
These are more common in men as compared to women. They can also occur in people who are going through chemotherapy.
3. Struvite
These are mostly found in women. These are quite large and cause urinary obstruction.
4. Cystine
These are rare type which occur in both men and women who have genetic disorders.

Symptoms
1. Pain
The stone stuck or movable can cause pain in abdomen at renal angle.
2. Blood
Blood can be seen in urine due to stone.

Treatment
Diet
Diet plan which controls calcium, uric acid etc deposition in the urinary system.
Ayuvedic medicine
The medicine used in kidney stone are mostly which help to break down the stone into small parts and later thrown out through urine.
Some of the medicine are also given to improve the urinary system which has been affected by the stone in it.
panchakarma
Snehanam, swedanam and basti are the panchakarma treartment given.
Basti of mutral dravya (diuretics) like gokshur, punarnava, pashanbheda ringani, etc are been used.
